Recent Private messages / conversations disappeared?

I logged in today and found that all my recent private messages / conversations have all disappeared? Anyone know what has happened? why?

If the other party deletes a conversation it is gone, either side can do this. As far as I am aware there are no mod or admin tools to retrieve them.

oh I never knew that, seems a strange way to do it. Wonder what the reason is? So can never keep messages if other person delete's convo.

Its built into the Xenforo software that way, I guess you need to think of these more like ongoing chat sessions rather than like email.
If there is anything you want to keep you will need to save it somewhere else using copy and paste.
