A little confused, can anybody offer me any advice?

Hi I was wondering if some of you could help me with this. Whenever I get a reply from a Mistress I get asked "What is it your looking for from me if I were to become your Mistress?". I never know what to say to this. I know it's got to be in my own words, and it's got to be about what I want, but I really don't know. All I want is somebody to please, I would rather them just tell me what they want and I will do what I can for them. I know some people think that it's a bad thing to just say "well that's up to you" but I also know that others think it's bad when the sub/slave asks for Mistress to do stuff to them, because then the focus is all on the slave's pleasure when it should really be more towards pleasing the Mistress. I'm confused, does anybody have any advice?

As a mistress, both 24/7 domestically and as a ProDomme, I do expect my subs to have some idea of what they're looking for so we can mutually decide whether our respective needs can be met from an association. I don't however require it to be specific nor precise.

Not all submissives are masochists, not all have desires that are sexual. Many just want to be bullied for an hour or two to get it out of their system , whereas others may have a spiritual yearning to serve another. These are discussions I'm always happy to explore and expand upon, but it's easier if the sub can paint a broad strokes image of what moves them D/s wise.
