Medical Anyone into sounding?

Anyone into sounding, putting something into the hole in your dick? I've tried it a few times, but couldn't find anything useful. I tried a cotton swab with a lot of lube, but that didn't feel particularly good. The stylus of my tablet felt better, but the tip might come off. For what I've tried, i think it can feel pretty good. Anyone have some good idea's for what household items can be used best and safely or what to buy as a beginner?

I generally lean towards the side of caution, and if you can get cheap actual toys for insertions, that's what I go with. Considering you can buy a whole sounding kit for less than $20 on Amazon, I wouldn't use any household item for it as most would be hard or impossible to really sterilize. One scratch and you could end up with a painful UTI or staph infection. If $20 is too much to spend there are individual sounding rods for less than $3-10. Sterile lube is generally what I've seen recommended by pros as well, also cheap on Amazon.

Some commercial ones look dangerous too. Have some advice on what type feels the most like pleasure and the least like pain?
I've seen some hollow ones too. Are those meant to be used as a straw?

Metal rod

Today I was cleaning up my desk at work and found a stainless steel, smooth ended rod, with a length of 14.3 cm (5 and 5/8 inch) and a thickness of 0.47 cm (15/32 inch). I now remember keeping it years ago, thinking it could maybe be handy one day. At that moment I really didn't think about putting it in my dick, but now I think it might be nice, but a challenging size. I will make sure it's perfectly smooth and sterile. I've worked in labs for years, so you can leave that up to me. I will heat it up above the furnace, then I will clean it with abrasive, dishwashing and bleach and finally I will decontaminate it with 70% Ethanol.

Didn't like it

So, I made this rod perfectly smooth by using an electric drill and a cloth with abrasive liquid. It looks very nice. After that I gave it a bleach bath for three hours and after cleaning it of, I disinfected it with 70% Ethanol.
Then it was time to try it out. There were several sounding porn videos on Pornhub, which were definitely made by and for advanced sounding enthusiasts. I smeared some lube on the rod and carefully inserted it in my pee hole. It immediately felt really hot. Unfortunately we had made a very unsatisfactory purchase a while back, that was again letting me down. We thought that Durex Play Tingle would be fun. It should give a pleasurable warming sensation. I tell you, the commercial is a bit exaggerated. We have never really like it. However in your pee hole it feels like red hot chilli peppers. Might be a lovely sensation for the advanced sounding enthusiasts, but I gave it a pass.
Better not try this again, until the new bottle of 'mild' lube arrives in the mail.

You HAVE to use regular lube & LOTS of it. No flavored or scented lines. You’ll enjoy it a whole lot more once you do.
