This game thread is an advanced version of the master-mind game thread with a few rule changes to make it more challenging for the experienced and addicted players.
Format
Any member can volunteer to set a code and start a round by posting their intention to do so in this thread. Other kinktalk members can then start guessing the code in the manner described in the rules below. Once the code is cracked, the code setter is relieved of their duty to respond to the guesses and the code cracker a.k.a. round winner has the option to take on the responsibility to set the code and run the next round. If the winner doesn't start the next round within 24 hours of the code being guessed, the thread is open for any kinktalk member to volunteer to take on the responsibility of setting the code and running the next round.
Rules
The code is a 10 letter code with repetitions permissible, so the code can be anything from AAAAAAAAAA to ZZZZZZZZZZ to anything in between i.e. 26^10 possibilities. Once the code is set, random members can start posting their guesses. The code setter will check the guesses and post a composite score out of 20 for each guess at least once a day according to their convenience, where 2 points are awarded for every correct letter in correct position and 1 for every correct letter in wrong position. Using that information logically, members can post guesses again and so on until the code is guessed. Each member can post (up to 2/4 guesses**) once every 4 hours or after the next check, whichever is earlier.
Thus, the objective of the game is to score a 20 by guessing the right code in the minimum number of guesses possible
Edit : Some modifications are being added to ensure better experience for players.
1)**Players can optionally post up to 4 guesses at a time till the 8th guess (cumulative, irrespective of who all posted the 8 guesses) of a round to speedup the elimination process early on, but after the 8th guess of the round, they can post only up to two guesses at a time.
2) Players while guessing can optionally post symbols like * or # as place fillers for some positions instead of all ten being letters in any guess, if they feel the need to in order to confirm/eliminate letters however the conventional method of using eliminated letters as place fillers works too (Though actual code will have only letters and no symbols)
