I took the "remain a secret" and not answering texts because you wanted them kept "low key" as your girlfriend didn't know anything about it. So my mistake as well.

If she knows about it and is fine with it, that's one thing. But if she really doesn't know, it's better to tell her so she's not hurt - especially if you love her.
