As this is now quite topical its time to make it clear, we will not allow deep fake material on Kink Talk.

"On Thursday, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the AB 730 bill into law, making it illegal to create or distribute deceptively altered videos, audio, or photos of political candidates. Additionally, he signed AB 602, a bill that allows California residents to take legal action against distributors of deepfake pornographic content which distributes their likeness without getting legal consent to do so."

If its illegal in California thats enough for us.

I think any political post should be deleted just by following forum rules (to be updated?). Being a fetish forum I would report any political discussion as a spam and intended influence. Regardless any new US laws as long as we are all international people. Just my oppinion.

Just to be clear though, this new Californian law covers private individuals as well. So photo that have been photoshopped to put some unsuspecting persons face on a naked body are banned also.

I loved to photoshop my friends and some celebrities at work years ago. Hmm strange, in media we just marked the photos mentioning they were fake. Different countries, different laws...

Btw half an year ago a porn tracker started to forbid posting fake celebrities photos. I understand this law is new, I wonder why they made that decision so long ago.

Mostly it has to do with the freely available software to do this automatically now. As a manual process in photoshop it takes a bit of skill but now there are many apps that let you do this and the results are sometimes staggeringly good.
The "deep fake" term gained traction as the various video apps that can produce fake clips became so good they could fool most people. Now its being used rather broadly for any media that is faked.
