This question has come out of the long running thread Are the vanilla folk getting kinkier?

And really this is directed squarely at anyone who falls into the post millennial generation (lets say 21 and under), do you guys find all this kinky shit quite normal?
Has growing up with the internet as your endless resource made regular porn passe, does it now take bondage, bdsm, kink in general to raise any interest?
In the other thread we discussed how things like anal and cumming on a girls face now seems common and accepted, but is it really?
A quick check of the stats tells me that over 50% of new members in the last 6 months are 21 or under, considering that only represents 3 years it is a hellava lot of representation you guys have. Myabe we need to be addressing your interests more?

Please join in the conversation, I don't care if you're a long time member of just joined I am really curious to know what's going on here.
Of course non-millennials are welcome to join in too

Well from my point of view most people dont care what you do in your private life so long as it doesnt bother them. So i would say most people dont care.... i wouldnt say it is super normal well idk some things are. Like bondage is not so taboo and i guess the lighter kind of kinky stuff. But i would say anything that is considered like unsafe (scat, blood, pee) is not considered normal at all people think that is gross mostly especially people who eat that stuff that is a no... also some kinks people find funny and a bit weird but not like they really care if someone else is doing it. But like furries and bronies and stuff like that people think is funny and weird. So really i would say depends on the kink...

Oh and i should add people find foot fetishes annoying not because they think it is weird exactly but for some reason you can't go online these days with out someone randomly messaging you asking for foot pics. Idk why these people cant just look up feet on the internet it isnt like that is going to be super suss on a web history.

This is a very interesting topic @droptokon. I am a millennial and not a post millennial, but I know some post millennials very closely as well as have general observations to share like always..lol

When it comes to kinks I do think its still more about individual preferences and different post-millenials may be interested in different kinks just like it is for other generations and like @Lilly131 said it may also depend on which kink. What was kinky may still be kinky but with less stigma [if any] associated with them and I will also maintain my stance from the other thread that the percentage of people practicing kinks are surely increasing.

However I do think [and I maybe wrong] that while previous generations like millenials have accepted, openly classified and embraced their gender orientations [like lgbt], post millenials are a step ahead and more likely to be open to experimenting and exploring the whole range of gender queerness rather than label themselves as one, and not just for kinks or sex but also with breaking gender stereotypes of what is considered masculine or feminine. Though I don't know how much changing perceptions on gender correlates to how normal they think kinks are..lol

I also feel due to the information age and popularity of image/media sharing apps and cameras in smartphones, online exhibitionism might be more popular, also kinky media available online seems more diverse now with a lot more original amateur homemade stuff. While its still just my personal view, I also do think more traditional [kinks?] like Domestic Discipline etc may be less popular [or even dying] in this gen [in fact it also doesn't appeal to us millenials imo].

Disclaimer - These are just my personal views. I also understand things can't be generalized and vary a lot geographically, culturally, with personal preferences etc. I respect contrary views and apologise in advance if have inadvertently offended anyone.

from my point im in my 40s and i have two kids well young adults now ( f and m between the age of 18 and 20 ) and i have often wondered this
back when i was there age there was no internet and well for me ,
and i think many females my age there wasn't easy access to porn let alone bdsm and bondage well for me anyway , there wasn't
I have thought often do they ( kids nowadays) post millennial generation or even the millennial ( i don't really know who is grouped in what age bracket to tell the truth )
Do the younger generation really find plain sex boring ? are they bought up now with kink , bdsm , like ive read do they think cumming on a face is normal (something i sure wasnt bought up on sexually)
interesting question posted really

Thanks everyone and especially @Lilly131 as you do fit the demographic! I guess what seems to be emerging is that my description of the question is maybe badly worded. Kink probably still is not "normal" but is common knowledge from a much younger age and so there is obviously some sort of desensitizing or just acceptance of it.
And perhaps thats the real key that in general post-millennials are very accepting. As @nina said being LGBQT or any other orientation is for them just how things are, the millennials brought acceptance to the masses and so now for the post generation its just the way people are.
Still keen to hear from more of you!

I have wondered the same. Our environment, media, sources of information do shape our thinking to quite some extent, and in the last 2-3 decades technology has transformed the type and magnitude of content accessible. So I think definitely they are more familiar with or have heard a lot of things that were reserved for a small niche segment earlier even if they do not practice it. Instead of knowing if they enjoy regular sex, it would be interesting to know how they define regular sex, like is kinky sex with handcuffs etc also regular or just another sex position now..... post millenials, enlighten us

Interesting topic. I believe that with so much access to the internet it has become easier to find porn. In my case I discovered it at the age of 8 and regular porn became boring really quick for me. But I also believe that you don't develope a new kink, you discover one. I believe, just how some people are straight or gay, some people are born with certain kinks.

When it comes to BDSM in general, I think it became more normalized. Netflix actually did a series (Bonding) in order to explain some of the psychology behind it. I have to say it's not the best representation but it's getting more normal, especially after following films like secretary or fifty shades of grey (the more well known film). After that went viral people might have tried it themselves and discovered they enjoyed that too.

Besides links being psychological and maybe pathological, with the easy access to information it has become more normal and accepted as well.

Also topics such as sex and sexuality used to be taboo, my mom said that they would never have much of a talk about it and didn't knew a lot. We grew up with almost every car advertisment having a hot barely dressed girl next to it. We grew up with films that weren't shying away from showing body nudity or sex scenes. Sex in general is more well discussed, explored, observed and open than it used to be. I think that people from older generations would be as I kinky as people today if they had access to all this information showing them that you can enjoy stuff in other ways as well.

Stuff like cumming on someone's face, given by someone a facial or having anal sex was rather normal stuff discussed by teenagers while I was growing up so for me that was a normality.

Hmmm i would say things like cumming on someones face and chest and that sort of thing isnt really considered wierd. Handcuffs also arent considered that wierd either. And also games like truth or dare can be much more sexual these days actually most of the time they get sexual if it is at a party. But i remember once me and a few friends decided to try one of the 'dirty' truth or dare apps and there was some kinky stuff and most of us just laughed and thought it was funny but not like weird exactly. Most young people are pretty open to new things and ideas so as far as kink goes that isnt much different. There is very much an attitude that the most important thing is consent and as long as that is there then what people do with each other is their business and no one cares that much.

Thanks for your responses @Punpkin and @Lilly131 as two in the demographic!
So if I'm reading this right it is to some extent the exposure to so much internet porn and even as mentioned much more explicit TV that has desensitised or maybe even normalised many sexual activities older generations thought of as extreme or kinky?
This makes such obvious sense really, as @nina mentioned prior to widespread easy internet porn was difficult to come by and especially kinky porn. It had to be purchased at adult stores or stolen from a parents stash but even then the subjects were much more heavily censored. I recall things like showing fisting were banned in many places and bdsm was considered violent content and also banned.
Now we have you guys getting to the point where you don't consider anything weird really, its more like "meh, just not my thing" but no judgment about it.

Perhaps what this really shows is that given the opportunity lots of older people would be kinky if they had been exposed to it sooner and not developed prejudices against it?

Studies have also shown that the younger generations are the most tolerant as well. I'm in the millennial group so I cannot weigh in appropriately, but given everything in the world that the younger group has had to deal with, their ideology has sort of shifted to be more tolerant of others. Like other posters said, the general mentality is, "you do what you want as long as it doesn't harm others or bother people unnecessarily".

Personally, I think it depends on the fetish/kink that's being discussed. Overall, I would say that it is a lot more "accepted" to be kinkier. However, there are still a few kinks that are laughed at or still considered to be taboo. Just to name a few, I'd say that DD/LG, cucking, and foot fetishes are pretty looked down upon.

I don't even know what generation I'm in - I see different years for millennial and Gen Z that overlap during my birth year. Some say a millennial ends at 1999 and some say 1995. Regardless, I'm 21 to put my thoughts in perspective - if it matters.

Really for the purpose of the original question what I was really looking for was anyone who has grown up with the internet always available to them and because of this always had relatively easy access to porn.
So getting back to that original question it was that I noticed that under 21s were somewhat over represented in the Kink Talk population and wondered if that was simply due to a more relaxed and accepting attitude towards kink?
And from the answers so far that seems to be the case, except with regards to foot fetish which has been mentioned a few times and makes me wonder if girls just find it creepy that guys are interested in their feet?

to me, the feet thing is just a bit ... odd i guess? i know some girls are creeped out by it. i personally just don’t understand what’s sexy about feet to be honest. but to each their own!

That's probably the case. I've sold foot content to guys and have quite a few "regulars" as a cam girl. I've asked guys why they like feet and it seems to be the domination/submission aspect. You hear the term "worship at their feet" a lot and I guess it's kind of literal, but they're literally worshipping feet, not "at" their feet. Another case is a woman's feet being "worth more" than the submissive themselves (so I guess the degradation part?). Women walk on their feet just like they "walk over" their submissive. I'm not sure if I'm 100% explaining correctly though lol

Before I got into the sex work industry I definitely thought it was weird lol

This is a really interesting discussion- sorry to jump on so late, but it’s something I’ve thought about a lot previously.
To give context to my opinion, I’m a millennial but only just- being born just two months away from being a post millennial (gen-z, or ‘Zoomer’) ; so I feel sometimes I fit better with the idea of that generation than my own.
I was raised with a computer and internet access my entire life- although I didn’t get a smart phone until my mid-teens I did have a computer in my room.

Personally, aside from diapers which were honestly like a compulsion, most of my kinks were formed through unrestricted, unmonitored internet access.
And I would say I’m kinkier than the average person on the street.

I feel that, yes- zoomers are as a whole more exposed to kinks and fetishes, and probably more likely to be freakier than the older generations.
I think being able to access intense topic and porn at a young age while the puberty hormones are flowing strong would probably result in a lot of interests that might not otherwise devolved.

That being said, I think many older people have also broadened their horizons as bdsm creeps into the mainstream.
I know 5 years ago telling my friends I ate ass and it was hot af would be met with mild repulsion; now however, my friends would respond with a ‘yeah? Me too- I love it’.
I’m 90% sure this is called the Overton window or effect, where in the more extreme things you learn about, the more acceptable less extreme versions of those things become to you.

Also! In regards to foot fetishes.
These are unlike other kinks, in that they are genetic rather than socially imprinted.
This might be why they are way more common in men than women.
