Hello fellow perverts of whatever flavor, orientation or spin!
A few things have been happening around the place recently so I've decide to put together a little briefing to fill you in.

Update, Dec 23. The fallout shelter did not get used and has been removed.
First up we now have our very own fallout shelter. Yes indeed you read right and no it's not to save you from the advent of nuclear war and the subsequent bombardment of elementary particles. Our fallout shelter is to protect you from the all seeing eye roaming the internet in the form of search engine crawlers, ID skimming bots and the general nosy peasants peeking in through the shutters.
Anything you post inside the fallout shelter will not be visible to any of these privacy invaders, hopefully preventing fallout in the form you and your kinks being found on google et al. This is by no means a panacea as everything else remains the same, but posts there will not subject to the normal open visibility. If you're interested just take a look around in the Training Room.

Next up I want to have a few words about blackmail. Yeah.
For those who read my recent rant about why doms fail you will know we have had a spate of serious incidents where doms have been getting way too abusive and some have even crossed the line into illegal activity. That activity is blackmailing members here for real, yes like making real threats to the point of terrifying the victims.
Kink Talk has a zero tolerance policy for any kind of criminal act, and make no mistake blackmail is a serious crime. Anyone caught attempting to blackmail anyone else here will be banned. And that's just to get started.
Most jurisdictions now have penalties that include jail time for posting naked images of someone against their will. If this happens we will not hesitate to cooperate with authorities to ensure justice is done.

So what does this mean for those that indulge in blackmail kink? Be aware that if you are in fact using real images of someone to threaten them, even if they have given consent to you it is still a crime. Why? Because you cannot consent to someone committing a crime against you. The law makes no distinction, regardless of what someone says or writes down there is no legal grounds for these consent contracts.

Unfortunately as in the case of cnc rape you are skating on thin ice, get caught out and you as the blackmailer will do the time.

You have entered a place where anyone can easily do anything with a fake identity.
This is such a good point! Unfortunately this will always happen, people with bad intentions can and do create accounts with the specific intent of trapping someone with blackmail, or taking advantage in other ways.

So when someone comes along and says "I want to be blackmailed" thinking it will all be a bit of fun but find that instead it is wrecking their life. Not everyone here enters wanting fun, some are very dangerous. As @Nurse Pervert has said, take the same basic security steps you would in any other part of your life.

Yes def a fair share of predatory people on all these types of sites. I think the biggest issue is thinking with the smaller head. They are focused on get rocks off above all else. The people on the sites become just tools items to use for their selfish gratification. And they will manipulate anyone to get that. Even if it means a last ditch effort at blackmail. There’s several who have gotten caught and arrested for it. And the laws worldwide are shifting to support the victims so much better.
It goes both ways too as I’ve hears and seen of plenty of sub males being blackmailed for pay. Or well past the point of consent.

Years ago it made the news they were targeting people with a fake female Skype vid. Gettin them on cam and then ransoming them with it later with the screen recording. This wasn’t even kink related.

I personally will never do blackmail since the consent line is too gray area and ever changing. Plus once online if they pulled back consent how could I be sure it was all removed from posting and not copied by others.

All in all a few most important things. Trust your gut and when something gets on the Internet it’s there forever. But never give in to those fucks. You have more support and rights than you might think just don’t give in to them.

Are blackmail play games/threads possible to remove or shut down going forward ?
Unless about conversation about blackmail or fictional fantasy aspects, (similar to how onlyfans is treated)

If there's a chance someone can incite blackmail play with them and then immediately report someone for carrying out that play (despite them asking for it) and it being a crime, then that's not safe for either party.

Random thought: Imagine being Blackmailed under fear of being reported to the police, because you followed up on someone wanting blackmail play that says it was non-consensual. Sounds like a Black Mirror episode !

This is something I have been giving some thought to.
Like many things though the obvious part, people posting about it is really the tip of the iceberg, most of this happens on dm's privately.

Honestly my opinion is that it would be awfully easy to bait someone into blackmailing you and turn it around as you suggest. The fact is the laws have become so strict with regard to "revenge porn" that it would be really easy to twist it back on a blackmailer. And then they are the ones stuck because what can they do?
If they try to go to the police they have to admit they were threatening to leak photos online. Whereas the "victim" can escape without fear.

And then of course there's always the possibility that law enforcement could be doing their own baiting as a form of entrapment.

It seems to me the days of blackmail "games" have come to an end. Anyone trying this now does so at their own peril.
