I googled the definition;

Dictionary result for kinky
/ˈkɪŋki/
adjective
1.
INFORMAL
involving or given to unusual sexual behaviour.
synonyms: abnormal, unusual, weird, bizarre, peculiar, strange, odd, funny; More
2.
having kinks or twists.
"long and kinky hair"
synonyms: curly, crimped, curled, curling, frizzy, frizzed, wavy, ringletted, ringletty; More

So I guess this raises the question what is unusual sexual behaviour?

I suppose that depends on your take on "usual" sexual behaviour right? Which surely must mean fucking and possibly oral but what about anal? Masturbation is also "usual" sexual behaviour.
So when does something slip from being usual to unusual? Lets stick with masturbation (haha yes very funny) and look at how to make that unusual or kinky, maybe when someone else is controlling it? Masturbation is supposed to be a solo activity so if someone else is telling when and how does that make it kinky? How about using something weird like a deodorant can or some huge dildo, thats kinky right?

And is anal usual or unusual, how about fucking outdoors or the porn favorite the facial cumshot? Are these things now so common they are usual or are they still considered kinky?
Of course post 50 Shades (boo hiss) even being tied up and so on is becoming much more accepted and mainstream so what are your thoughts on this, where does it become kinky for you?

Good question. In my opinion as the kink progressses in the social view it becomes more and more subjective. For many basic kinks you mentioned can be considered "normal" but since there are people that think of those as unusual they should still be considered kink. Some starts from basic kinks, some needs more adrenaline in their activities to name them kink, but they are all kinks nevertheless.
So I believe unusuality comes from personal perception. The ladder of kink that anyone can place themselves on different level. I think "plain" solution to this question no longer exist. Unusual and strange were always subjective terms, so is the kink now.

What's kinky is subjective. Just because it seems like "everybody else is doing it" doesnt make it less kinky for the people who are not doing it or do it occasionally to heat things up. The internet makes the world smaller and gives people a place to talk about these things. And of course it introduces ideas to people who otherwise may not have heard/done some of these things .
