There are several types of harness so im about to school you.
There are sex harnesses = avoid those. They are very single purposed and generally awkward to work with. These are virtually all leather as well.
The its much better to cross platform other products into your own application.
This begins with a CLIMBING HARNESS/rock climbing harness.
These have a waist band + 2 thigh bands + latch hooks of metal or dense braided nylon at sides + front and back.

When you see this thing you in a sex mind are going to say = OH YEAH!
That with a winch and a good anal hook has so many tingly erotic possibilities.
You could raise yourself with this maybe 3-4 feet from facing a wall, and tilt back bracing your feet on the wall while adding upward tension to the anal hook on the backside.
This means you could basically rock/swing yourself and if the hook had a ball on it, the feeling in your anus and prostate would be insane.
Next harness = mountain climbing harness.
These are full body with metal latches/hook points.
I have seen these combined with ropes and latch hooks for crazy sex suspensions.
You can suspend face up or face down or upright, or upside down.
Many of these have over the shoulder straps and are designed multi directional support in case of falling/tumbling on/off a mountain and then dangling in whatever orientation.

Both styles are nylon web and come in color choices which may add to the suspense like say you use construction danger orange, or lime neon green. Of course black is always a standby but may not be as psycho fun.
Next is rope. 100ft bundle of nylon rope = $10 at home depot and lowes. It comes in blue, red, green, or yellow and is a perfect size dia for applying hook latches.
Peoplebbn i know into suspension avoid actual climbing rope because it comes in 1000ft bundles. These are specialty ropes that are softer and very nice to the skin. I see thesebin a green/grey color and are preferred for rope bondage.
If your hoist has heavy rope already, you may still need a a go between.
For raising and lowering i suggest a head peg that you wrap the pull end around and use your own strength to raise and lower and secure rope on horizontal peg.
This is highly nautical as ALL ROPE AND SUSPENSION PLAY IS.
Your binder peg could be made from pvc plumbing pipe 3/4 - 1.5 inches with an upright and a T.
The T would be 6inches - 1 foot. The upright would be secured to your joist frame or a wall.
Of course this kind of setup is best for a BASEMENT and tend to be long term situations.
Take your time in planning this and do it with care because when you build this = they will come (inadvertant pun is marvelous).
