Good is subjective. If you have a master already he should be setting expectations. None of us can tell you what he wants or likes. All this should have been discussed in the negotiation stage. Likes dislikes limits expectations etc.
What I may like doenst mean it’s what every Dom would like.
Is he high protocol?
Does he have lots of prior experience?
What did you two discuss before entering in a dynamic?
Is he into slave poses?
Formal address ?
Acts of service? Like drink and cigar
Boot blacking
Is this dynamic online or in person ?
Beware of the “doms” here who reach out via pm to “help” you by trying to get you to do things for them.
Don't make him ask twice. If it's not one of your hard limits just do it without hesitation. If you hate it let him know thank him lots when being punished
There is actually no simple answer to that, as there is not one way, it is always a matter of being compatible. A "great slave" for one person may be a nighmare for the next.

It is in person! My partner ! We have been dabbling a few years but he now wants to move into a more protocol heavy life

My suggestion is when adding on rules do a few to begin. Let those run for week or a few and let it become habit before adding on more.
Starting off with a large list of rules all at once can be hard to achieve on both sides. Remember he’s responsible for enforcing and keeping up with them as well so he will also be busy.
Some high protocols ideas:
Formal address by title (yes master no master)
Slave poses
Leather/ toy care
Presenting toys/items during a session
Speech restriction
Collars
Clothing chose by him daily
Him deciding nail colors
Hair styles
Good discussion starters.
Giving advice, answering questions, and in general helping someone understand expectations in general, is a good thing.
How does a new person know what questions to ask if they don't know what they are getting into. Its not like I'm stealing your sub.

Saying "just obay" to a new person seams rather silly in best case and in worst case outright dangerous.
And to be honest even with the addition of consent nothing is mentioned to help with a Dom being abusive or dangerously manipulative, both very hard to spot for a beginner as it is... "just obay, once you consented" is really not a good idea on the mind of a new sub... As it misses a ton of "... after you checked the Dom being the right one for you and will not order things that are bad for you..." things you learn with time but are sure not easy to do as beginner.
Even with an expirienced sub it is not the best advice without adding things to it, but I can see a small point to it at least. But with a beginner... Bad advice
